About Us

The Atlanta Estate Planning Council, Inc, was organized in 1947 to provide education and fellowship for the members of professional disciplines (CLUs, Trust Officers, Attorneys, CPA’s) and now for Probate Judges and Academics who devote a substantial portion of their time to estate planning and trust activities.

Through the years both the quality of membership and programs, as well as the opportunity for professional fellowship and education, have continued to grow. The recent addition of membership categories for Probate Judges and Academics has further enhanced the professional composition of the Council. The high quality of membership is evidence by the frequent appearance of council members who speak at major estate planning seminars in Georgia and around the country.

Membership is by Invitation Only.  Our existing membership is encouraged to extend membership invitations to those individuals who meet the Bylaw qualifications and are outstanding estate planning professionals in their fields. The member extending the invitation acts as sponsor for the applicant seeking membership in the Council. Please refer to the Bylaws and/or the AEPC Membership Application for a description of the application process.

Applicants approved by the Board of Directors complete the enrollment process by paying an initial fee of $200 and a prorated portion of the $250 annual dues for the current year. Thereafter annual dues are payable in advance on July 1.

Life member status is awarded by the Board of Directors after a member meets prerequisites for age and years of membership and completes the application process. Life members may elect to pay regular dues or pay $75 per meeting confirmation.

Guests of Members are welcome at any open meeting.  If paying by check, host members should include the guest reservation confirmation with a $75 check or online payment for each named guest.  After a named guest has attended three meetings, the fee for each meeting thereafter is $125 for that named guest.  Payments must be received by the Executive Director at least four days before the meeting.
